JANUARY 30TH, 2011

I was invited out to CINCINNATI, OHIO by JAMES from OTR – where I would take over the store with a VIOLETTE POPUP SHOP. Later, I would host an after-party at FB’s alongside owner LOGAN HIUDT.

It was a very short trip, hence the short video – but, I was able to acquire a BENGALS hat, eat like a local and party like a true CINCY NATIVE!!!

This trip was jam packed with fun, food, and absolutely no sleep. My flight there departed at 6am, so I didn’t sleep the night before nor did I get to sleep on the plane. When I arrived I was delirious, but excited to experience OHIO. As soon as we touched down – LOGAN HIUDT picked us up in a fire red GTO and took us to a famous BAGEL SPOT. It was excellent. Then we went to the hotel where I had an hour to chill (I ended up knocking out for two hours). Later I went to the VIOLETTE POPUP SHOP hosted at OTR, got interviewed for CINCY CHIC at LUNAR, had dinner at SUNGS, then hosted the afterparty at FB’s. It was great…

*while we were sitting at our table, a waiter brought over a box that held a 700$ bottle of ACE OF SPADES champagne that he said someone bought for me. I was so shocked and wanted to thank this stranger in person. The owner, LOGAN, later introduced me to him. He turned out to be a very nice Jamaican gentleman who said “I’m just happy to see black people doing positive things and being successful”. Thanks again, it was TOO KIND!
