Vintage Dress, Opening Ceremony Mary Ellen Shoes & Balenciaga Bag

Since it’s Fashion Week in NYC, I decided to post up a throwback from 2012 – when Oscar and I were asked to have 1992 featured alongside other legendary NYC nightlife movements for Opening Ceremony’s 10 Year Anniversary Party. It was the best party I have attended in the last 10 years…no lie. The next day I got calls from people saying they had an epic night…which led to them losing their voices and calling out of work the next day.

OH MY GOD. Where do I begin. A few months ago our homie Mister JACKY (OPENING CEREMONY) asked us to be a part of a Fashion Week event that would be talked about for aeons to come. Basically, the event would commemorate the 10 years OPENING CEREMONY has been killing it in the game, but they would also celebrate New York City Nightlife at the same time. They asked only the best party people to hold their own parties in WEBSTER HALL, like a rave…with parties happening in many different rooms. Among those names – THE MISSHAPES, GHETTO GOTHIC, LUXX, THE SMITHS PARTY, CLUB BAR DOWN DISCO and…1992!!!

The squad came over for our traditional “get-ready”. TAI on makeup and KARL on styling (if KARL hadn’t pulled anything, which he didn’t, he skims through my closet and makes magic out of mayhem). Since it was Fashion Week, showrooms were extra tight…so we made do and I couldn’t have been happier! He found a vintage piece I bought, some brand new Opening Ceremony shoes and my chic Balenciaga bag.

After our 3 hours in the first floor room from 10-1, we took over the 2-level main floor from 1-2.

At 2 the secret performer would go on, so our timing was #PRIMETIME.

And…the guest performer was…LIL KIM!!!

I screamed my head off! Literally. It was amazing.

I’m on the verge of losing my voice from screaming all night, my feet ache from wearing my adorable Opening Ceremony Mary Elle Shoes, I funk from dancing all night (and I mean all night) and I sweated out my blowout…BUT…IT WAS GREAT!

Special thanks to CAROL & HUMBERTO of OPENING CEREMONY as well as JACKY TANG & THE ENTIRE OPENING CEREMONY FAMILY! Thanks to ALBIE HUESTON & JANJAY SHERMAN of EXTRA EXTRA CREATIVE and WEBSTER HALL for being the landmark in NEW YORK CITY nightlife that it is! Everyone was amazing and I had the time of my life!!!

I let loose (which is so rare) and I had the best time ever. I hope, for those of you that attended, you had a great time too! Now, I’m going to bed!
