Yo Vashtie, I dont get it. Don't get me wrong, the video was incredibly dope. I was just confused on the concept. I usually watch the videos you direct with a clear understanding of what was going on. In this video all I got was that he bought a boombox, and it turned into 1992. Then he saw a (really pretty) girl and she gave him a lollipop. I would love to grasp more insight. I always think everything has a deeper maning for some odd reason. Maybe Im wrong idk ..I love your work though. ^_^

Hi Vashtie, I wanted to thank you for making this video. I grew up in Brooklyn in the 80's. Most feel that they come from a geographic location, a place. But I feel that I come from a time and place. That time and place is Brooklyn in the 80's and when i go back to Brooklyn, it doesnt feel like home anymore. Before this video I only had my memories. It's scary how well you captured what it was like back then. Also that exchange between the main character and the beautiful girl was great, it reminded me of how strong and pure my feelings were for certain girls when I was a kid. I 'm 32 years and I forgot what its like to have crush on someone. In fact the girl looks a lot like a girl that I liked in 10th grade. Im not really a letter writer and I certainly dont comment on peoples artistic work. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write to a total stranger. This video is really a work of art, btw this track is, in my opinion the best pop song ever. Siedah Garret should have been the most famous pop star, not sure what happened and Armand Van Helden did an amazing job on the production, whatever he did, it didnt interfere with the vibe of the track. I am really curious who the girl is, the one that gave him the lollipop at the end, she has a gorgeous smile. Anyway, thank you very much for making this video, really amazing job.
