a couple years ago OSCAR and i met AWOL ERIZKU, upcoming artist and recent graduate from COOPER UNION. since then he’s kept me up to date with the art shows at his school. it’s cool to see young folks making art and COOPER UNION has held such a history of excellence that i was always blown away by what these folks were making when i stopped by for a show.
he recently gave me a piece from his show…it was part of his exhibit at COOPER UNION.
he said…
“The Print is a one of one piece I made just for downtowns “It” girl Va$htie, inspired by (your) Violette NYC Brand. The original work, “50 Years of a Legend” which is made up of 50 Unique print pieces with a 5 color Screen process, maps the years of the late great Michael Jacksons life transitioning from Dark to a lighter Skin complexion. Often installed in 5 rows and 10 columns, the piece occupies 7×15 feet wall.”
*my reflection makes me the “MAN IN THE MIRROR”
