on route to a birthday barbecue, we all managed to stop at the LABOR DAY PARADE. for people who may not know, it’s an annual event that occurs in BROOKLYN and celebrates all WEST INDIAN countries with loud music, great food and non-stop dancing. it’s something that needs to be experienced, at least once in life.

*we jumped the fence and made our way on the parkway. we couldn’t decide what truck to follow. one TRINIDAD truck was playing SOCA and right behind it was a JAMAICA truck playing REGGAE. SCOTT advised us to follow TRINIDAD and that JAMAICA would be too crazy. we decided to ignore his warnings and follow JAMAICA…needless to say, it was insane and while we were in the crowd someone tattooed my back with a BOB MARLEY portrait.

*this angry kid pushed his way through the crowd and i swear he mumbled “i can’t stand these effing west indian fools”. i was like, “yo, chill B” and he was like “hush gal, me nuh know you!”.
i was supposed to have met up with THEOPHILUS, LUCIA and GRACE…but, my fone was acting up. damn, T-MOBILE…how you gonna do me like that?

The parade was very fun this year, i had the same prob with my t-mobile phone, i was dolo the whole parade cause i couldn't catch up with my people, the guys on the sidewalk selling beer and all the food made up for it though
Looks like hella fun..next year I is celebrating in NYC...still think though being in the caribbean is the full on affect...V we need to see you doing this the REAL trini way...ya know after that lime you got to jump into the SEA...
