Every year I have a big soiree that is purposely open to the public. Having amassed such an interesting group of followers, I like to be able to celebrate with everyone from close pals to silent supporters.
The day of my actual birth is usually celebrated on a smaller scale, with very close friends. This year it was fate that AMAYA and LUZ would be visiting the week of my birthday (they didn’t plan it that way). Since it was cold and rainy on my actual birthday I decided to hang with my 3 year old god-daughter AMAYA, her mom LUZ, and some of my oldest friends in NEW YORK CITY. We wore sweatpants, cooked and listened to music. It was soothing to say the very least.
*LUZ made TUNA STUFFED IN AVOCADO HALVES (peep the PICKLED ONIONS!!!)
*ERIK made KALE CHIPS and brought my favorite SAHADI’S HUMMUS & BEET SALAD. That Hummus is so good it makes NO SENSE.
*KARL made NORI WRAPS with home-made “NUT MEAT”
*ELLE made SWEET POTATO FRIES & GARLIC AOLI
*SCOOZLE made GUAC DEVILED EGGS
*AMAYA made me a card that made me ball my eyes out like a big sissy. I mean, if you read it you would have teared up. She dictated as her Mom, LUZ, wrote out her feelings on me.
*At the end of the night I was surprised with a Vegan PEANUT BUTTER BOMB CAKE!!! This cake holds a dear place in the hearts of me, KARL, LUZ and ERIK. It was nostalgic in so many ways to have them all there with this cake.
