Back in September, my friends and I got together to make a video for a song that I happened to love using a story I had written. Strangely enough, the story was written in 2008 to the song “HoustAtlantaVegas” by Drake at a time when I felt no connection to the story’s protagonist, “Lolita”. The story came back to me this year (7 years later) while listening to Drake’s “Hotline Bling” – and this time around, I understood “Lolita” a little more. Oddly enough, I wrote this the year my website Vashtie.Com launched and I re-launched it with the visual for “Hotline Bling”. Talk about Full circle!

Becoming “Lolita” through hair and makeup was the easy part. Becoming her on camera was difficult and it took quite a bit of Scotch to get there…while yelling in between takes to the onlookers “I’m acting…this isn’t me, guys”. Putting myself on camera in that way was awkward, but interesting…
Me and the babe/photography couple Jarlos!

This was written and directed by me – but, could not have been possible without the ALL HANDS ON DECK and Co-Direction of Guy Belloch.
Special thanks to all my friends who also gave their help and time…
