GRUB: Ryu – Japanese Cuisine In The Meatpacking District (7.18.12)

When my friend MIKE MILOSCIA General Manager of the fresh and new RYU invited me and some friends out to dinner, I jumped at the opportunity. I just love breaking bread with friends and since I rarely venture off the experience new places (I cling to routine too much), this seemed like the perfect time.

I also finally found my camera charger and battery so…I have some good photos!

Nestled in the Meatpacking District, also known as “the perfect place to consume great food amidst the the worst club hoppers known to man”, RYU is a gem! Scott Disick, Chris Reda of Griffin and Fatty Crew VP of operations Jesse Camac teamed up to make this place a reality. Some of their press has surrounded Disicks involvement, and although I’ve never watched the show to know that much about him – I am a firm believer in letting the product speak for itself and believe me, this food lulled me into submission!

I love Japanese food and this place has seemed to re-invent the classics. A mix of small plates, snacks and mains will get your night going in the right direction!

Roasted Edamame with Lime and Sea Salt stole my heart.

Albacore Tuna Tataki

DJ Huggy Bear was on deck with superb sounds!

Cerulean Coco was also in attendance

Tsukune Yakitori (Chicken Meatball)

Kona Kompachi Tartare

Alaskan Sockeye Salmon

Wagyu Beef Sliders & Pork Tonkatsu Sliders

Bathroom Shot!

Seared Big Eye Tuna with Chickpea & Potato Salad

16 oz Wagyu Rib Eye

Miso Glazed Sockeye Salmon

++++++++++

This place will be my new go-to! The setting was perfect and the food was excellent! Special thanks to MIKE MILOSCIA and ASHLYNN for taking care of me and my crew!

MIKE MILOSCIA – If you see him, tell him I sent you!
