If you missed ‘Brooklyn Took It’, then it’s safe to say that might’ve been your biggest mistake.
The Friends and Lovers atmosphere was filled with nothing but feel-good vibes and sick dance moves. The DJs in rotation gave non-stop heavy jams. Among the roster, our very own sweetheart, Vashtie, effortlessly blessed us on the ones and twos by offering the musical energy we needed after a long day. The spins ranged from classic hip-hop jams to our favorite 2000s hits–that not only made us dance, but made us sing and rap at the top of our lungs. Last but certainly not least, the vibes apparently called for a break-dancing battle between crowd members and a few of the DJs. All in all, Vashtie’s set rendered straight jams and a cool energy that kept the night intact.
If you didn’t know, ‘Brooklyn Took It’ is a dance party that started last year at Friends and Lovers BK with the intention to give locals and people from all over a chance to party freely in an environment that is dedicated to playing quality music and rendering ‘good vibes’. Every first Friday of the month, BTI features a guest DJ to showcase their mixes and creativity. In rotation, the spins consist of classic 90’s and early 2000 hip-hop, R&B, funk, soul, dancehall, and more!
