Having the opportunity to work with the artists that I love and respect has been a huge blessing in my career, and working with BIG KRIT is definitely on my list as one of my favorite collaborations to date (if not the best).
When I got the email asking if I was interested in writing for BIG KRIT, I was already down. KRIT is one of those rarities in music today…someone who is not only talented and precise in their craft, but most of all someone who is true to who they are. There is no gimmick, no smoke screen, no false persona. BIG KRIT is genuine and real, something you don’t see often – especially in music.
When I heard “Boobie Miles” I was beyond inspired. I wanted to create a visual that paired with his lyrics, bridging the art of sport and music in a way that wouldn’t alienate people outside of either of those worlds. With KRIT’S words as my guide, the concept wrote itself.
The shoot was done in two parts (although it wasn’t planned that way). We shot with the Phantom camera which was pleasurable, yet painful…the technical side of things held up our schedule. The first day was estimated to be an average 12 hour shoot, but actually ran straight for 24 hours. It was the longest shoot I had been on – ever. Now that it’s finally polished and perfected, I am so ecstatic to share with you the final product.
