Nicknamed "Downtown's Sweetheart" for her many affiliations with the underground scene, this girl bridges the gap between underground and industry.

New York Based Artist and "It Girl", Vashtie Kola, has been known in the scene for years. She has achieved success as a Music Video Director, Artist, Creative Director and Party Promoter while being featured for her work in notable publications such as; The New York Times, Trace, i-D, Paper, URB, and The Daily News. Amongst the overload of brands launching every season, Vashtie never found one brand that consistently represented her tomboy flair and high fashion sensibility. With this in mind, VIOLETTE was established in a lane of it's own. It began to manifest in 1999, but wouldn't be fully realized until years later. Inspired by uptown and downtown, hiphop and rock, feminine and masculine, casual and couture; VIOLETTE is a mix of opposite worlds that meshes fashion forward with casual style. Imagine if Louis Vuitton had a daughter living in the Lower East Side - she'd be rocking a luxury handbag and a fly pair of kicks. Her wardrobe would consist of rare designer items and delicate vintage pieces. With superb style that is effortless and uncontrived, she starts trends without thinking. The harmony of contrasts is a distinction of her true sense of fashion. VIOLETTE officially debuts for Fall 2008 with a line of tees for both Women and Men. Although, the line will primarialy be for the Ladies, there is also a VIOLETTE HOMME line dedicated to the Gentleman.
